On your life journey, there are doors  you open and doors you pass by.  Your choice to go through a door or not depends in large measure on your thoughts and beliefs at the time.  Here are five Kingdom Keys to help you open the doors to freedom, healing and a fruitful life!  As you read these, meditate on how they apply to your life – in your past and in your current circumstances.

1st Life Truth – You are responsible for you own journey in life.  God has a destiny for you according to His plan and His purposes.  However, the success of your life is your responsibility.   You don’t get to stand idly by while saying “It’s all in God’s hands”.   An old saying bears true: If you want God to guide your steps, you have to be willing to move your feet!  God promises to prosper us and bless us in every area of our life and into our generations.  He has given us stewardship over this world, but we must do our part.

“Each of you must take responsibility for doing the creative best you can with your own life.” (Galatians 6:5 Message)

2nd Life Truth – Life is a Series of Choices.  Life is a continual series of choices and it is our responsibility to make the right ones!  Every choice you make will affect your life both now and into the future.  Your good choices result in health, happiness and prosperity, but your bad choices can result in long-term struggles.  Also remember your choices can affect others, and correspondingly, their choices can affect you.  Your choices cause a ripple effect like a stone tossed into a pond.  Your ripples intersect with other ripples to form complex and unique circumstances. God had given you the remarkable gift of FREE WILL.  You are free to choose whether God will be a part of your decisions… or not!

That is why it is so important to have the Holy Spirit on our side as our wise counselor teacher, guide and supporter.  Not sure whether you’re hearing from Holy Spirit?  When it’s an important decision, it is also good to seek the advice of godly men and women you trust.

“Where there is no counsel, the people fall; but in the multitude of counselors there is safety.”  (Proverbs 11:14 NKJV)

3rd Life Truth – What you think about, you give power to in your life.  Our thought life is powerful!  When we think good, positive, God-centered thoughts our body responds in positive, life-giving ways.   But when our thoughts are focused on bitterness, fear and rejection our body responds with chemicals and hormones that can lead to sickness and destruction.

“Be careful how you think; your life is shaped by your thoughts.” (Proverbs 4:23 GNT)

In our conference, we teach about the mind body connection – how our thoughts can profoundly affect our body, our reactions and our actions in the outside world.  You should constantly keep a guardian on your thoughts to allow entry to Godly thoughts, but defend against intrusions from the enemy!

“For as he thinks in his heart, so is he.”  (Proverbs 23:7 NKJV)

4th Life Truth – You give power to WHO you listen to.  We all have stuff we think about but we’re not sure why … we just do! Many of us have a constant stream of internal chatter going on in our mind. There are thoughts trying to poke themselves into your conscious mind constantly.  So remember, just because you thought them doesn’t mean they are true!  Just because a certain thought makes you feel sad, rejected, offended, angry or hopeless, doesn’t mean it is valid.

It is your choice as to who you choose to listen to.  Will you listen to the enemy with his message of deceit, discord, death and destruction?  Will you listen to yourself and let the self-centered, self-absorbed, needy thoughts fill your mind?  Or will you listen to God with his promises of forgiveness, love, goodness, peace, grace and healing?  Always ask, “Who told you that?”

“And He said, ‘Who told you that you were naked?’”  (Genesis 3:11 ESV)

Think about what you are thinking, and give Godly thoughts the power in your life.

5th Life Truth – Rejecting, denying or ignoring the truth keeps us in bondage.  Could you be walking in spiritual blindness caused by the enemy, pride, ignorance or caring too much what other think?  When you are spiritually blind you can’t see truth because you’ve hardened your heart.  When you are spiritually blind you can’t see God’s perspective and will probably continue to lie to yourself.  Ask the Holy Spirit to open your eyes in this world of darkness and give you wisdom and discernment in the matter.

Thomas Jefferson said, “Ask questions boldly!”  That’s what you need to do.  Challenge your beliefs, your knowledge and your understanding.  Search, study and know God’s Word.  Know Him!  Know truth!  Try to see things from another perspective. What/who is the source of your truth? CNN? FOX News? Facebook? The Bible? Whose standards of truth do you trust?  You need to challenge your thoughts by God’s standards.  That is where you will find truth and right.

“Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” (John 8:32 NIV)
