As I sit here today and consider writing my testimony of how Restoring Lives International has impacted my life, I must face the reality that I presently have a life that is worth testifying about.
I am now 71 years old. When I was 65 I retired from a career as an engineer. I came home, sat on the couch, grabbed a beer, turned on the TV and considered the rest of my life. I reflected that it had been a good life, but thought to myself,”Now I’ll just sit here, relax and quietly die. There is nothing I want to do, nowhere I want to go, nobody I want to see, and nothing that really needs to be done. In other words, I don’t need anybody and nobody needs me. NO Further Purpose, THE END.”
WHOA!!!
After about a month of this activity, if that’s what you want to call it, I heard a voice in my head say, “You are not finished”. I believe I heard this voice because I had been praying to God about my life. I was then directed to find a church. I tried a few of them and finally settled on one that seemed totally user friendly and safe for me and my wife. It wasn’t long before that I began to get involved in the prayer ministry of the church. Later I was baptized, which was really a renewal or revival of my commitment to the Lord. As that first year of Honeymoon with the Lord proceeded, I had read the book, A More Excellent Way by Pastor Henry Wright and couldn’t get enough of this wonderful teaching. A friend in the prayer ministry told me about Restoring Lives International and that it was originally founded on these same teachings. After attending my first RLI conference I was blown away! RLI gave so much to the seekers in teachings, testimonies, hands on deliverance exercises, and a wealth of resource materials. The conference manual alone contains enough info that if I was stranded on a desert island with only the Bible and the RLI conference manual, I would have all I needed to work out my soul salvation.
Six years later, I have been able to study, absorb, and incorporate these incredible tools (teachings) as a part of life and daily routine giving me a wonderful and deep relationship with Father God, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. RLI has also given me the expertise to minister to people in very dark places in their lives. I feel thousands of miles spiritually from where I used to be. I am proud and truly grateful to have found Restoring Lives International and to be serving in this ministry. It has given me a tremendous opportunity to minister to people in such an excellent and glorious way, partnering with Father God and the wonderful RLI family. I’ve gone from the couch to the Kindgom!
